Bamboo slats are handy for lots of craft projects. I've woven them into place mats and used them to embellish picture frames. They make good paint stirrers. I've used small scraps in collages, on journal covers and on cards.
Here's yet another use for bamboo slats from one of our readers.
I am looking for bamboo staves for making large feather fans. Can you help? A Canadian company would be preferred. Thanks.
Here is my answer about Finding Bamboo Slats for Crafting.
You can buy them at www.tikishackimporter.com
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'll check that out ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell, I checked. The Tiki Shack has a wonderful selection of bamboo and thatch in slats and rolls. But they are large - like for fences and thatch roofs.
ReplyDeleteThe smallest bamboo slats I could find are 1.75 inches by 2 feet - too big to use for feather fans.
So I'm back to my original suggestion. Buy inexpensive bamboo shades with the slat width you need and cut to size.
Oh well ...
