Reader Question Leads to New Homecoming Mum Weave

I have tried to do the diamondback braid for a mum, following directions on your website. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I get a "candy stripe" weave instead of the diamondback.

Please help!

Actually, the candy striped braid is pretty cool, too ... and I am using both the diamondback and the candy stripe on the next mum that I am doing!!
