Plastic Canvas Circles for Homecoming Mums

I have been making homecoming mums for my daughters and garters for my son and was really interested in the tip from Kim regarding the plastic canvas circles and fishing wire.

I don't use the traditional points for the nest, but alternating ruffles of ribbon or honeycomb ribbon. Will this work with the canvas circle and fishing wire, and how is it done.

I am tired of burnt fingers from the glue gun. Could I get a picture of the plastic canvas circles? Are they the things used for cross stitch yarn? Thanks for your help.
