Crafting with Alzheimer’s Patients

Hello,

I am an artist currently working with adults with Alzheimer's. I'd like to do a wind chime project with them involving non-toxic, air dry clay forms. Any recommendation regarding what type of clay may sound best? I'd be happy with something we can cook up together or purchase ready to use.

Hi Kim,

What a great project idea! Wind chimes are fun, whimsical and the shapes don't have to be perfect. I would recommend Amaco Self-Hardening Porcelain Clay. It's non-toxic and air dries to a porcelain-like translucent finish in 24 hours. It can be painted with acrylics or oil paints.
