Free "Finish Line Scrapbooking" Class by Stacy Julian

Big Picture Classes' founder Stacy Julian is offering another free online mini-class to entice people with pictures into the world of paper scrapbooking. It's called "Finish Line Scrapbooking".

The idea is to have a kit ready. Stacy shows what is in her basic kit. When you have a bunch of photos you want to get into an album, just pick up a kit and go!

My kit above is still missing the sets of coordinated scrapbooking papers. When you're itching to make a album, even though time may be short, all you need to choose are the photos and embellishments.

Stacy has a lot of ideas to take the angst out of scrapbooking. She is charmingly down-to-earth in the class video (and just in general)! To wit:

"Do it in a weekend with a Finish Line scrapbook ... and then you won't feel guilty that - I don't know - all the reasons we women feel guilt."

Sharing an incident that occurred with a last minute album for an anniversary celebration, Stacy says, "Interesting note, I got diamond earrings and he got a scrapbook. I'm not really sure how that is fair ... except that they are both priceless ... Well, whatever, the earrings are priceless. Anyway, I just felt like I got the better end of the deal."

... and in a more serious vein,

"I put together these 17 little pages and then I was able to sit down - and here's the key - when you spend time with your pictures in this process, sort of the intensity of the process, you are working so fast that there is this subconscious place where you can really think about the photos and it's just delightful."

Have you ever had that feeling? I call it getting lost in my art. It feels wonderful and the bonus is that something worthwhile was produced at the same time.

Stacy says, "Go shop your stash and have fun". This class is not about buying lots of new trendy papers and embellishments. It's about simply scrapping precious moments in your life.
