Techniques and Materials for Copper Embossing Have Changed Over the Years

Looking for information on copper shim.

I used to make copper wall pictures years ago but have forgotten what to rub over the finished picture etc.

Any info would be much appreciated.

  6. Hi, Connie. I did a bunch of them when I was a youngster. Sadly they were lost in a fire. How nice that you've been able to save yours.

  7. Copper portraits and copper embossing...I wonder if I took the silhouettes I did of the kids when they were little and a sheet of copper if I'd be able to emboss their images...sort of like embossing an image using a stencil and paper....Will obviously have to put that in my list of "possible projects"! Thanks for the idea and the info Eileen!

  8. June, That sounds wonderful. I hope you will post the copper silhouettes on your blog so we can all see how they come out.

  9. I've even used acrylic paint to give a verdigris finish on copper. There are so many great colors you can choose from, but you need to seal it with a sealer afterwards.

  10. Thanks for the tip, Chloe. I bet verdigris is really pretty for giving an aged look.
