Copper portraits and copper embossing...I wonder if I took the silhouettes I did of the kids when they were little and a sheet of copper if I'd be able to emboss their images...sort of like embossing an image using a stencil and paper....Will obviously have to put that in my list of "possible projects"! Thanks for the idea and the info Eileen!
I've even used acrylic paint to give a verdigris finish on copper. There are so many great colors you can choose from, but you need to seal it with a sealer afterwards.
This book caught my eye this morning! I'm interested to check into it...thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great book! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Madge
I think I am going to check this book out too!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it. Maybe we'll all run into each other at the bookstore. lol.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I have copper "portraits" of my grandparents that I treasure.
ReplyDeleteHi, Connie. I did a bunch of them when I was a youngster. Sadly they were lost in a fire. How nice that you've been able to save yours.

ReplyDeleteJune, That sounds wonderful. I hope you will post the copper silhouettes on your blog so we can all see how they come out.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, Chloe. I bet verdigris is really pretty for giving an aged look.
