Working from Home: My Dream Job

Working from Home - My Dream JobHi there,

I hope you are well and I'm sorry for bothering you...I found you online and was intrigued.

I'm currently researching business opportunities/ideas with the hopes of finding something I can do from home full-time.

Your business sounds interesting - could you tell me about yourself and how well you are doing in your present business?

Thanks so much!

Laurie

Hi Laurie,

It's no bother. You may not know that The Artful Crafter's motto is "The Artful Crafter – Helping Crafters to Be". This is what we're all about.

You can read how I came to be The Artful Crafter behind the website here.

Yes, the business is very interesting. I feel blessed to be able to make a living doing something I love so much. I've grown as an artist and had opportunity to try all sorts of new media from precious metal clay to digital scrapbooking. I'm just having a ball!

I don't make as much money as I did in my first two careers, but I don't need as much since I work from home. The savings (gas, clothing, time ...) are substantial and so are the tax benefits (expense write-offs of home office, office supplies and equipment, even all my craft supplies and equipment).

It didn't take us long to earn a page rank from Google. Page Rank is Google's view of the importance of an individual web page. Google's home page, not surprisingly, merits a page rank of 10 out of 10 ;-)

On a good day, some of our pages have reached 4/10. That puts us in league with some of my favorite other websites like Scrap Girls,
Tim Holtz, Sprague Lab and Prima Hybrid.

The Artful Crafter website went live in August 2005 and our daily blog was launched July 8, 2006.

Here's an article on building your own website based on our experience and another article about free websites. You'll also find a lot of helpful information in our For Profit section.

Please write again if you have specific questions as you proceed. And good luck!
