Hi,
I am so excited about your website. I just found it now and have't explored yet but I know it's going to be helpful.
I have been contemplating pursuing my passion for arts and crafts, even on a part time basis. I'm a full time internal auditor. I particularly like your section about profit making in crafts business.
I'm digressing a bit, but my question is: What is a good sewing machine? I've been meaning to buy one but don't know where to buy the kind that I need.
I'm thinking of sewing duvets, pillows, girls dresses and office skirts (for me). Please give me some tips.
I will surely be back at your site. (I'm on office break). I have put it in my favorites.
Thanks in advance!!!
Emy
Hi Emy,
Thank you so much. You've made my day!
I may not be the best one to ask that question. Though my most profitable product line has been sewn items that I designed myself, I'm not a fancy seamstress. So I've only needed the basics as far as a sewing machine goes.
The machine I have now is a Kenmore Ultra-Stitch 6. I bought it from a friend who bought it at a garage sale for $70! It's probably 40 years old.
However here is an excellent article on How to Choose a Sewing Machine by Mary Wilkins, owner/editor of the website Sew-What's-New.
Regards,
Eileen
Thanks Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI am glad I didn't give in to my impulse and hurried to buy the first machine that come my way.
Ill take the advice and research. I just probably need the cure for this long time itch to sew!!
Thanks!
