On the 8th Day of Easter …

Mommy Makes Roses... my true love made for me 8 Flowers Fluffing.

I read about these gorgeous handmade roses in Martha Stewart Living and went to the artist Cassie Chappell's website, Mommy Makes Roses, to check them out.

Not only did Cassie make and sell the roses; she also offered classes and had a video tutorial as well as printable directions and the rose template right on her site. How sweet is that? I decided to give them a try and am pretty pleased with my first attempt pictured above.

I made a couple of changes. I found it tricky to keep the stem wire in place as I positioned all the petals. Plus I noticed that Cassie's roses don't appear to have pistils (female rose) or stamens (male roses). So I glued a gold bead on the end of the stem wire to serve as an end cap and hold the wire in place as well as to simulate a pollen anther.

Mommy Makes RosesHere's how I made these gorgeous Paper Roses.
