Homecoming Mum Reader Tips

I issued a Homecoming Mum Season Alert in this blog August 4. Not only is it back-to-school time, but if you live in parts of the South, Homecoming Mum season is just around the next corner.

Reader Kim sent us a few tips for making your mums more secure and for eliminating the hot glue gun. Great ideas, Kim!

Homecoming Mum Corsage Tips
I enjoy making homecoming mums for friends, although I haven't made but one to sell.

I have scrapped the glue gun, I use the plastic canvas circles and tie everything on. I use fishing line for adding tulle, etc. to the 'nest', and I group my ribbons in clumps and tie them on too. No soggy cardboard if it rains and nothing falling off. I even tie the mum on, usually securing it with the bear or mascot on the other side. Works great and makes up quickly, and no burnt fingers.

Thank you so much for sharing these tips. I will pass them on to my other readers and add them to the Homecoming Mum section of The Artful Crafter.
