Painting a Plaque for Outdoor Use

Hello...

I haven't asked a question in a long time but I figured if anyone had an answer to my question it would be you!

Here goes... we recently lost our beloved dog of 17 years... We have him buried in the back yard...

My husband brought me a very nice piece of ceramic tile which looks like slate and I want to use that as a marker with his name on it... this has been so hard!

I have a lot of acrylic paints but if acrylic paint is not what I should use... then what would you suggest? And also what would I use to seal it so the weather will not ruin it?
