World Wide Blog Hop Stops Here Today

World Wide Blog Hop: Blog It

World Wide Blog Hop: I've Been Tagged!

The marvelous Cyndi Lavin tagged me to participate in the World Wide Blog Hop and today "I'm it!"

Before we set off, please visit Cyndi at Beading Arts. Prepare to be amazed by the beautiful intricately beaded jewelry she designs and creates. Cyndi has written several ebooks to share her techniques.

Now onto the hop. My job today is to answer four questions about myself and tag three more bloggers.

World Wide Blog Hope, I'm It!

1. What am I working on? Halloween projects, resin jewelry and postcard art. I have a sewing project, DIY washi tape and decoupage in the hopper.

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

Can I say mine differs because I don't have a genre - a craft genre that is - as you can probably tell from my first answer. I consider my genre to be that of craft explorer and teacher.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

I simply love crafting and I'm a teacher at heart. I love connecting with like-minded people. Some of the connections become very special friendships.

4. How does my writing/creating process work?

The primary inspiration for what I write and create is reader questions. Like I said, I'm a teacher at heart. When I need a break from "teaching", I take a bus man's holiday and work on the backlog of online classes I've purchased for myself.

World Wide Blog Hop: I Tag ...

And now, I tag Margot Potter, June Crawford and Claudine Criner. Ladies, you're it!

Margot Potter, You're It!

World Wide Blog Hop: Meet Margot Potter

Margot Potter approaches everything with her signature sense of humor, boundless curiosity, and copious amounts of joie de vivre because she feels that if it’s not fun, it’s simply not worth doing. She invites people to not only think outside of the box, but to tear it up, re-purpose it into something fabulous, and stand on it to reach for the stars. Equally comfortable at the writer’s desk, in the design studio, onstage or in front of the camera., she’s been a professional performer for twenty-four years and a crafty chick since before she was old enough to hold a Crayola®. You can find out more about Margot on her website DIY Doyenne.

June Crawford, You're It!

World Wide Blog Hop: Meet June Crawford

June is a mixed media artist who plays in Lexington, Kentucky. She grew up surrounded by creative women and thought that was the norm. Since making her way out into the “real” world where people often seem to think she is “different” she’s come to the conclusion that maybe it wasn’t that way for everyone.

Self taught, June considers her art to be play and thinks of herself more as a creator of interesting things than an artist. While her favorite mediums change, she finds that a few of the constants are old books, paint and lots of glue. There is a great deal of experimenting involved when she is creating, and she believes that if she isn't having fun, it isn't worth doing.

Some of June’s work can be seen in the inaugural issues of Pages and I heart Paper, as well as Tons of Tangles. Her work is also in the collection of Albert B. Chandler Hospital, and she designed an ornament for the White House Christmas Tree several years ago.

You can catch up with June on her blog, ACreativeDream, and on Pinterest , Craftsy, and Facebook.

Claudine Criner, You're It!

World Wide Blog Hop: Meet Claudine Criner

Claudine is a mixed media teacher who works from home in beautiful Colorado Springs. That's Claudine and her lovely daughter above.

Claudine has had her hand in some sort of art since she was in middle school. She has tried her hand at painting, pencil art, watercolors, mixed media, altered art, scrapbooking, card making, stamping, inks, photography and sewing.

She simply loves making and creating just about anything. Her current favorites are mixed media and art journaling. Claudine blogs at Claudine’s Art Corner where she enjoys sharing tutorials and hosting challenges. There you'll find mixed media goodness like altered playing cards, trading blocks, die cut and stamped creations and journal pages.

Claudine is on the Stampotique Design Team, the Inspiration Team of Artists on the Block and is a contributor to Unruly Paper Arts.

She recently won a Tim Holtz Curiosity Crew 3 Challenge with what judges called a " brilliant example of Distress Watercoloring, and an all-around beautifully designed work of art." See the 4th of July Birthday book made for her mother whose birthday happens to fall on ... you guessed it. Claudine says her mother always gets fireworks on her birthday.

If you live near, or are planning a trip to, Colorado Springs you might be able to catch one of Claudine’s live classes at Simple Pleasures Rubber stamp and scrapbooking store.

[In the interest of full disclosure, I should tell you that Claudine would probably not have told you so many glowing things about herself. I had to step in at the last minute and ghost write much of her bio when she unexpectedly learned that she would need surgery. It's nothing life threatening but will keep her off her feet for a while. Thank goodness you don't need your feet to create mixed media!]
