[The basic instructions for this Jute Decorated Flower Pot for Mom appeared yesterday.]
Embellishing the Jute Covered Pot
If you decide to decorate the side with a twine rosette, cut a piece of twine 12 inches long. Glue both ends as before.
Place a few drops of red food coloring in a small glass bowl and add just enough water to cover the piece of twine.
Push twine down into the colored water with a fork so it is completely covered. Let soak for about 15 minutes; then set outside on a paper towel to dry completely.
When the red twine is dry, dot a very small amount of glue onto the first inch and tuck it into itself to start the circle for the rosette.
Continue adding small amounts of glue and winding the twine around until you have the size rosette you want. Then glue the end just behind the rosette.
Form the rosette to fit the side of the pot by curving it in just a little. Place glue all around the back and position on the side of the pot.
Glue the button to the middle.
If you would like to add a couple of leaves for the rosette, glue on silk leaves or use small amounts of twine tinted green as for the rosette.
Create a leaf shape in similar fashion, gluing both ends as before. Form each leaf to fit the pot. Glue in place.
