Art Journaling with A Creative Dream Part 2

Art Journaling with A Creative DreamI'm not giving up on these art journal page backgrounds. One of my words for 2012 is EXPLORE, so I'm determined to see this experiment through and continue through June's art journaling course on her blog, A Creative Dream.

I wasn't remotely happy with the left and right pages in Version 1 below.

June left me a lengthy comment of suggestions and encouragement. Thank you, June. You're a gem! In a nutshell, I needed to do more layering.

So layer I did - you can't even recognize how those two pages began, except for a few little areas of paint or texture showing through.

The orange page (left) has about 10 layers and weighs about a pound - just kidding.

The photos don't do justice to the colors. The right one is actually a very pretty rosy red with a gold grungy border.

Art Journaling with A Creative DreamI think what I need to do next is spend more time trolling around A Creative Dream to study more of June's journal page backgrounds. Not to mimic her style but to get a better idea of where we are going.

If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up someplace else.

LOl.. Eileen, if you want to know where we are going with this you'll have to draw us a map!

I posted a new tutorial today though, one that may help you see how I do my layering.

I love how you are exploring though, I can't believe the changes in the ones you've done!
