It’s sooo pretty and looks so easy to do.
Look at the mess I made in the guest bath. Look at my shimmery hand. I’ve been so absorbed with digital crafting lately that I’d almost forgotten how much fun it is to get your hands dirty with colorful paints and messy glue. But guess what? I followed the directions to a “t”. I moistened and scrunched. I used freezer paper so I could sop up all the lovely color. I sprayed with walnut ink for an antique-y look and scrunched some more. Then I scrunched it up in a ball and left it to dry.
My hem tape never crinkled. I tried 100% polyester tape. Then I tried cotton. I went back to the video and figured out the hem tape used is rayon. I don’t have rayon and am searching all over town – so far with no luck.
Is that the key or is there something wrong with my scrunching technique? Or is it the glimmer mist? Have any of you tried this successfully? I could use some help here.

LOL.. gee Eileen, that reminds me of my peeling paint attempt. There is something really great about getting your hands dirty though... isn't there? And all sparkly too...
I'm so sorry it didn't work for you. I've heard the type of seam binding really makes a huge difference in the wrinkling of your ribbon. I decided to skip the locating process all together and bought Hug Snug binding from Zipperstop online. it worked perfectly.

I LOVE getting my hands dirty. Glad you got to play a little :-)
Nicole,
You're so sweet to stop by and leave all this info. I really do appreciate it, 'cause I'm bound and determined to make some of this lovely crinkled ribbon!
