The Big Reveal: My 1st Mail Art - Part One

Joyce at Calico Paint should have received My Mail Art by now, so I can share a bit more about what I created.

Please don’t laugh. This was my 1st Mail Art – thanks to June’s October Creativity Prompt.

I was pleased with how my background collage of torn colored tissue papers came out. I recycled some vintage stationery for the “To” and “From” mailing labels. I figured the postal system would reject anything that didn’t have clearly identifiable addresses.

Mail ArtOn the back of the manila folder envelope, I wanted to add some interactive pieces. You know the kind of elements that make people want to reach out and touch. First, a little window onto our world …

That’s our back yard. We built a little waterfall that runs into an artificial creek. My hubby wanted koi fish in the creek, but that’s a story for another time.

Mail Art… Second, since we live in Mexico, I wanted to give my Mail Art a Mexican touch. I added this little chili confetti shaker window and then doodled “Hecho en México” in the opposite corner.

Oops, I’m out of space and time. Please come back for Part 2 of The Big Reveal: My 1st Mail Art tomorrow.
