I made this charm bracelet for a friend who has been a real angel to me. In addition to the aqua (4), blue (4) and iridescent amber (10) glass beads, 18 head pins, 36 foiled silver 8/0 seed beads and jump rings (as needed), I used:
• 6 ½-inch length of large link silver chain and 6 ¾-inch length of smaller link silver chain – both by Metal Madness;
• 2 differently shaped Blue Moon Bead Bits & Baubles angel charms engraved on the back “Made for an angel”;
• 4 Blue Moon Beads cast silver charms engraved “Inspire”, “Trust”, “Believe”, and “Imagine”;
1 cast silver heart shaped toggle clasp (Blue Moon Beads);
• 2 star-shaped and 2 quarter moon-shaped charms made of shell from Tammy Powley’s Etsy shop; and
• For the focal charm, the cast metal dangle of a heart attached to a circle (also by Tammy - you can see it better in the picture below).
The layout on the bead board above was my original design. I envisioned only one strand and a monochromatic scheme of aqua and Caribbean blue.After I put it together and modeled it for my hubby, he said it needed more color. So I added the second strand of amber colored beads, making the chain a bit longer so the beads would fall at a pleasing length between the blues and greens.
When I showed it to my hubby the second time, he said, “It’s too much” – not even remembering what he had said earlier. But that’s okay. I think he was right the first time. LOL... ah, it's just so difficult to strike that balance sometimes. I like it both ways.
It's beautiful Eileen! My hubby does the same thing to me- I listen sometimes and sometimes I just tell him I don't agree with him-lol :) I do like it with the amber beads added- it looks so luxurious ♥
I like it both ways too. Thanks for using my charms!
Ha! Hubby does the same thing. I try not to ask and just go with my gut. But i like to see it thru someone elses eyes before i declare it finished. Sometimes just leaving it for a day and coming back with fresh eyes helps.
I think its beautiful! And your friend is very, very lucky!! deb
I think it is just right! You can never have too much on one of these bracelets. Love all the color.
Debbie
Thank you, Debbie. It does feel very feminine to wear with so many charms and beads jingling against each other.
Yeah my hubby sometimes says that stuff too. Sometimes he's right.... other times? Not so much. LOL. I do like the bracelet both ways, tho. You did a great job.
Thank you, Cherie. I guess the main thing is that the friend I made it for likes it. Phew!
I love it Eileen and think your friend is a lucky duck! Just beautiful... Too much??? never!
Thank you, Eileen. I just got a couple of your die cuts. I can't wait to try them out.
