Wanted: New Phrases for Artistic Endeavors

Creative ClichésI want some new phrases for all our artistic forays. We launch into the unknown desiring to create something truly unique. We achieve it and want to share the inspiration with others in how-to articles.

Inevitably we say:

• The possibilities are endless;
• The sky’s the limit;
• Let your imagination soar; or
• If I can do it, so can you.

We started with something wonderful and new … and ended up … in clichés!

I say we need some new phrases to describe the joy of the endless opportunities that exist for our creative selves and efforts.

Do any of you (word)crafters out there have some better ideas?

On the other hand, clichés have become clichés because they really capture something we want to convey. Hmmm ….

Please leave your fresh ideas or opposing opinions below. Both are welcome ;-)

  1. Here's the one I'm sick of:
    "I used (fill in the blank) to add texture and interest to the piece."

    Or "color and interest". I mean, come on...no one thinks you used it to add boredom to the piece...LOL!!

    No, I have no suggestions, just complaints ;-)
