It Began With One Angel; Now They’re Everywhere!

Angels EverywhereOne of our best memories of Christmas 2009 is time spent with my dear friend Shaaron and her hubby Craig. That’s my DH Chris to my right. Chris and Craig had never met. Shaaron and I had met face to face for perhaps a total of an hour over three years ago. Then she and Craig moved 1200 miles away.

Yet over the past three years, Shaaron and I have become the closest of friends over the Internet. We each feel the other has been an earthly angel in our lives.

It was an angel that originally brought us together. One day in June 2006 Shaaron happened into my little craft shop. She looked around, commented on some of my pieces and mentioned that she was a crafter too. Currently she was working on beaded-fringe angels with porcelain faces and hand.

Beaded-Fringe AngelI was very interested, trying to envision how they would look. Shaaron offered to bring one in to show me. The angel was exquisite. And that was that. Shortly thereafter, they moved far away and I thought we would never see each other again.

Somehow we reconnected by e-mail and Shaaron became a fan of The Artful Crafter. One day I asked if she would like to write a tutorial of her beautiful Beaded-Fringe Angel. That was the first of many contributions by Shaaron to our website.

Here are a few more of her designs.

At our reunion lunch just a week ago, Shaaron presented me with yet another angel. But the most beautiful one in my eyes remains Shaaron herself.

  4. I especially like the beaded Christmas tree, lovely. The internet is such a great place for artists and musicians, without it I sometimes think it would be hard not to feel a bit alone, with it we are constantly making new friends and finding old ones.

  5. Ryan, I checked out your "Old Father Christmas" site. What a lovely idea - 365 of Christmas.

Your new carol, "She is Dressed in a Song about Angels and Starlight" is beautiful. I hope it will be set to music.

I wanted to follow your site, but may have clicked on the wring button. Oops. Waiting to see what happens ...

    Glad you enjoyed Shaaron's work.
