I have recently learned about "Soldiers’ Angels" – it’s where you can adopt a soldier in the war. My son was deployed and is now home.
I have decided to knit and crochet lap blankets for the troops who are tied to a wheelchair for the rest of their lives. It was suggested that they would appreciate a lap blanket to help keep their legs/stubs warm. I have been knitting lap blankets since November of last year and will donate all of them to the vets in wheelchairs who need them.
I was wondering if you ever donated yarns for this cause. I am using all dark yarns with the exception of red/white /blue/ and off white. I knit/crochet two colors together - except for the red/white and blue - then its three colors.
If there is any way you could assist me in my quest please let me know. I have been using your yarn - it takes a total of 10 balls for a total of 1000 yards of yarn per lap blanket.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Kris
Besides a big “God bless you” to Kris, come back tomorrow to read what Eileen has to suggest.
