Pin or Bias Tape Weaving Patterns

I have just recently been shown a wonderful "new" craft and after looking on the net for some hours have only found one or two patterns. It is the art of weaving using bias binding.

Please can you direct me to sites (or have you some yourself) that shows the pattern grids to use to create all these wonderful patterns.

Thanks for listening.

Hi Ruth,

This used to be known as pin weaving or meshwork; so that’s why you didn’t find much when you searched for bias tape weaving projects. I found tons and, like you, am very intrigued with the idea.

I’ve seen fancy jackets made with woven silk ribbon, but using bias tape is a great way to use up my bias tape stash!

Here are some great pin/bias tape weaving tutorials I tracked down.

Meshwork Coin Case with Clover Quick Bias Tape from Clover pictured above.

Pin Weaving a Christmas Stocking from Wright’s – the makers of Wright’s Bias tape.

[Tip: it’s always a good idea to check the manufacturers’ sites for ideas to use their products.]

Ribbon/Bias Tape Pillow from Vintage Chica.

Weave a New Pattern for Your Purse from Lazy Girl Designs.

I hope to have some similar projects on The Artful Crafter very soon.

Thanks for writing and introducing me to a new craft. I love to try new ones and I love challenging questions!

Regards,
Eileen

Well cool! I've done plenty of pin weaving, but never with bias tape. Thanks!
