Inspired by Graphic Designer Angie Briggs

As I was looking for summer photos to use for session 2 of Katherine Weaver’s Dynamic Stitching class, I came across these from a trip my DH and I made to Hawaii in 1988. It was one of those magical times. The photos were taken the old-fashioned way, so I had to digitize them by scanning.

We drove the Saddle Road across the Big Island; drove all around the Island's perimeter; and explored some of the interior. Every vista seemed more gorgeous than the last. Incredible!

I really wanted to use the pictures in my homework but finally decided they would not be enhanced by lots of cute little stitch work. So I set them aside to play with later. Usually my layouts take days to complete. I mix and match from different Scrap Girls kits and change the colors on many elements to match my photos.

I did this layout in about two hours and the time just flew. I was that inspired by Angie Briggs’ Scenic Route kit. Everything here except the stacked photo frames by Melissa Renfro is from Angie’s kit and I didn’t change a thing. Oh, I did tone down the black of the filmstrip a little, but I think that’s all.

I think this was the quickest layout I have down and may also be my favorite. Thank you Angie!
