Decoupage a Wall? Why Not?

I want to make my own photo collage and adhere it directly to the wall for a seamless look. I was thinking of using Mod Podge, but then got concerned about ever being able to remove the photos from the wall. I like the look of the Mod Podge as a finish, but am wondering what I can use to mount the photos onto the wall?

Hi Jenny,

I’ve really pondered over this one. You’re correct that the Mod Podge would make it very difficult for a new owner or renter to remove your art from the wall. Even you might tire of it after some time.

Here’s what I would do. Make copies of the photos onto regular computer paper. Computer paper is the best weight for decoupage, whereas photos have thicker edges which are hard to conceal.

Seal the ink with two coats of Krylon Crystal Clear spray to prevent ink bleed. Let dry.

Come back tomorrow for the conclusion of my advice to Jenny.

It ran "tomorrow" as promised ;-)

Here's the direct link.

P.S. Whenever you want to look around my blog, there are two ways to do so: Search Box at the bottom of the screen to find a specific topic; or Blog Archive on the left to look at a specific date, month or year.

Thanks for stopping by.
